The purpose of the dialogue is to provide a platform for various groups of youth e.g., high school learners at maritime schools, university students currently studying towards a seafaring career, cadets currently enrolled and experiencing life at sea and youth involved in seagoing activities. The conversation is hoped to spark input towards a sustainable future for seafarers particularly in South Africa.  

Key objectives:

- Provide a platform for youth to discuss their views on the future of seafarers

- Enable identification of both enablers and hindrances for seafarer development within South Africa

- To outline required support desired for a thriving future of seafarers. A bottom-up approach through engagement with future seafarers.
